Tips for lighting OFYR, Plancha, or grill on fire

Lighting a wood-fired OFYR, Kamado, Green Egg, plancha (or outdoor grill) requires a slightly different approach than a BBQ/plancha that runs on gas.

Here are the steps to safely light a wood-fired BBQ, OFYR, Kamado, Green Egg, or plancha using Ecolighter:

  1. Make sure the wood-fired plancha or OFYR is used outdoors on a flat, stable surface, away from flammable materials.

  2. Stack dry, clean, and well-ventilated firewood in the firebox or under the plancha. Ensure there is enough space between the logs for good airflow.

  3. Place one or more Ecolighter firelighters under the firewood in the firebox. Distribute them evenly to promote even ignition.

  4. Light the firelighters with a long lighter or match. Be careful when lighting and keep a safe distance.

  5. Let the fire burn steadily and allow the firewood to warm for a few minutes before you start cooking on the plancha.

Why use Ecolighter?

  1. Environmentally friendly: Ecolighter firelighters are made from natural materials and contain no harmful chemicals, making them an environmentally friendly choice for lighting a wood-fired plancha.

  2. Safety: By using Ecolighter firelighters, you avoid the need for flammable liquids such as lighting gel, which can be dangerous when used on a wood-fired plancha.

  3. Efficiency: Ecolighter firelighters provide a consistent (20-25 minutes) and long-lasting flame (up to 500 degrees), making it easier to ignite the wood in the firebox quickly and evenly.

By following these steps and using Ecolighter firelighters, you can light your wood-fired plancha in a safe, environmentally friendly, and effective way.

Always remember to follow the instructions on the firelighter packaging and take the necessary precautions to prevent accidents.
